The summer course will be held at University Fernando Pessoa's campus in Porto, Portugal.

University Fernando Pessoa was recognized as a public interest organization by the Portuguese State in July 1996 and it is the result of a pioneering higher education project initiated in the 1980’s with the creation of two higher education institutes that provided its structural basis. Today, the University is organized in three faculties (Health Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, Science and Technology), one School of Health Sciences and one autonomous unit (Ponte de Lima College). It has managed to develop into a solid private higher education institution with a strong academic focus and a constant concern with quality maintenance and improvement in what concerns a highly qualified teaching staff, physical infrastructures and equipments and its teaching, research and extension project.

The city of Porto is situated on the right bank of the River Douro, being the second largest city of the country, with approximately 300.000 inhabitants and the centre of an area of great vitality with a population of over 1.5 million, it's Portugal’s northern capital.

Porto is a city of contrasts, with an old section scrambled upon granite bluffs and a new section which runs out to sea. Both areas are divided by the Douro River, a distinctive landmark spanned by six dramatic bridges. The attraction of the city lies largely in this contrast between the prosperous business core of the centre and the timeless charm of its Ribeira area, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Porto is a city of contrasts known for its monuments, gastronomy, Port Wine and unique combination of tradition and modernity, retaining all the ambience of a riverside community, while being the country’s most important commercial and manufacturing area. Porto is also home to many educational institutions, hosting more than 60,000 students of higher education, making it a young and vibrant city.
